Lisa Jackson
Lisa Jackson broke racial barriers by becoming the first African American ever to serve as EPA Administrator. Over the last several years she has snagged a spot on every power list for her accomplishments on behalf of the environment. She was named one of Newsweek’s Most Important People in 2010 and was one of Time magazine’s 2010 and 2011 100 Most Influential People. She leads 18,000 federal employees in the daily fight for America’s most valuable resources and to protect our health, economy and our children’s futures. Jackson notably brings focus to communities historically underrepresented when it comes to environmental protection. Most recently she has helped coordinate the response to the Deepwater BP oil spill and was asked by President Obama to helm the Gulf Coat Ecosystem Restoration Taskforce.
