Kristine is a dear friend and my inspiration. Her daughter died in her arms at five days old from an undetected heart defect. Thanks to Kristine, Indiana now tests every newborn for heart defects using pulse oximetry before they leave the hospital. She is an amazing advocate and a good friend. I recently lost my child to heart defects and have started the same mission. I hope to have the same success as her. She has truly touched a lot of people and everyday I am amazed by her drive and passion. I hope she wins because then she might realize that she IS amazing for all she has done.

Kristine has made amazing strides in bringing awareness to Congenital Heart Defects. Currently putting much effort into making Pulse Ox testing mandatory for newborns, and running Operation Healing Hearts. All around an amazing person, a wonderful mother, and a great friend!

Thank you so much for becoming an activist on this issue. I am 24 weeks pregnant with a child who has several heart defects that we would not have known about had it not been for the high level ultrasound screening we went to at 20 weeks. Now we can at least prepare for our son’s arrival and make sure we give him the best chance. Thank you for what you have accomplished.

I vote for Kristine! Her story about baby Cora is such an inspiration and could save many other lives by promoting awareness. I also lost my son, Hayden Lee at just 3 days old. We still don’t know why, but I am certainly an advocate of pulse oximitrey testing if it can prevent even just 1 baby from dying. We know it can and will prevent many more, thoough. I support Kristine and her mission.
