Brenda Barberena is all of the above and so much more. As a board member for HopeforSMA, Brenda selflessly donates hours upon hours and days upon days of herself and her time to bring awareness to the #1 genetic killer of infants in the hope of funding the cure that we know is just around the corner. Brenda's gorgeous daughter Bella Mia's life was stolen by SMA and she is determined to stop the monster from stealing the lives of any other babies. From holding garage sales to organizing flash mobs, to organizing charity events to getting cities and communities to declare the month of August as SMA awareness month, Brenda is leading the battle to fight SMA. There are not enough words or time in the world to describe what an amazing woman and mother Brenda is. In one word, Brenda is a hero. She is not only fighting for her child, she is fighting for YOURS. There is noone else in the world who deserves this more than Brenda.

Si la ciencia está preparada para investigar esta enfermedad y ayudar a las personitas que la padecen, el problema es del maldito money, money, porque es la industria farmacéutica la que decide dónde -dependiendo de sus intereses-, invertir sus esfuerzos.
