Heather Montoya has spent the last decade saving countless babies and young children, including my own four year old son Bex, from a potentially fatal and deforming form of scoliosis (Progressive Infantile Scoliosis). After her own precious daughter Olivia developed severe IS, Heather searched the world for a cure and single handedly helped to bring Dr. Min Mehta's form of serial EDF casting to the U.S. While fighting for her daughter's health through multiple treatments, Heather founded a non profit organization, "The Infantile Scoliosis Outreach Program," to make sure that even though it was too late to save her own daughter from halo traction and painful spinal surgeries, no other children would slip through the cracks. Heather continues to fiercely fight daily to make this treatment, which is the only cure for IS, to the rest of the world, particularly to 3rd world countries, and the babies children who so desperately need it. Heather Montoya is a true hero and she saved my son's life and spine.

  • This mother has tirelessly worked to save the lives of too many children
with scoliosis. She founded I.S.O.P. more than 12 yrs. ago, and has worked
for the organization 24/7, since it’s inception. She more than deserves some
well-earned recognition. Pls. vote for Heather.

  • If it weren’t for Heather and ISOP who knows where we’d be…ISOP provided us with the information and support needed to cure our daughter of Infantile Scoliosis…Heather is more than deserving of the recognition! Thank you Heather for all you do, you truly are an inspiration!

  • Heather never toots her own horn. She has been deserving of an honor like this for many years and they keep passing her by. But the world will know what she has done to save so many babies and children, because I won’t stop shouting her name from the rooftops until they do.

My son would’ve had a life of pain and severe deformity if not for Heather. Every time I look at his almost perfectly straight spine I think of what she has done for us. She saved his life and in doing so, saved my own.
