I went to school with Jeanette and her family. When Mateo was born I had not heard her name in years. Jeanette made Mateos life more then a miricle. Everyone I knew followed his life through a blog of awareness... Jeanette did not stop there, Much to our dismay Mateo did not make it... he did; however, make the work more aware of congenital heart defects (CHD), and pulmonary vein stenosis (PVS). He stayed strong and Jeanette how raised awareness and help for the families in the time of their need.

  • I know I was late on this but Jeanette deserves this. Even if I nominated to late my hope is that the awareness raised will help also…

  • Congenital Heart Defects (CHD), and Pulmonary Vein Senosis (PVS) are two infant birth defects that I had never heard of before baby Mateo was born.
Jeanette Zitkevitz Paredes and I attend the same church; Sharptown United Methodist Church is a family in the neighborhood of 600+ perishners; who now know of CHD and PVS and the families it effects. Jeanette is highly educated and educates others. Jeanette brings these deseases and defects to the awareness of folks that otherwise would never know of them. Jeanette, through the memory and love of her son, Mateo Paredes, supports and loves the families and babies that suffer from CHD and PVS. Babies in the Delaware Valley, born with CHD, PVS and other heart defects and there families are better off because of Mateo and his mommy, Jeanette Zitkevits Paredes. She is a God loving, Jesus beleiving, compassion sharing woman who deserves to be recognized for changing the world…one baby and one family at a time!

  • Now I have heard of many moms being very strong. But this story gets me every time! I dont personally know the family. But reading all the mommy has went through and still carries on and helping others and changing lives is wonderful. She has got to be one of the strongest most heart felt mothers I could ever imagine. God forbid stories like this my child has her little downfalls of problems. But nothing compared to this. If i was ever in any situation even close to this I wish I would have half the strength she does. She deserves the world!

  • I cannot even begin to describe the beautiful woman Jeanette is inside/out and as a mother. I have seen a beautiful young girl grow into a amazing woman and mommy. God has put many challenges in Jeanettes hands that she handled with so much patience, love and grace. Of all the people I have met on the earth…it has been a blessing to know and have Jeanette in my life. She is a inspiration to any parent going through a crisis!

  • Jeanette has always been one of the most welcoming and unassuming people since I met her (at age 14). When it comes to sharing her life, she has never been exclusive in who she would care for and invest in. Jeanette has not only mothered her children, but has added value and meaning to so many lives and has caught God’s heart for people.

  • I first became aware of Mateo and his family through a newspaper article in Todays Sunbean Newapaper. Their story touched my heart. I followed Mateos journey and even met him in person at a fundraiser for him and his family. Jeanette is such a beautiful, caring, compassionate woman who unselfishly gives to others. Through Mateo and Jeanette my faith was strengthened. She is a blessing to so many…and truly has God’s heart for people.
