Not a single word would suffice to be able to describe the impact Mrs. Oganesyan has had on the lives of her students and others around her. She is not just a mother to her two beautiful daughters but a mother and role model to all her students. A professor of Organic Chemistry, Mrs. O. works tirelessly to educate her students in the classroom and when class time isnt enough, she schedules out of class workshops sometimes three times a week (time taken away from spending with family) to help her students understand O-Chem to the fullest extent. Her love for O-Chem and for her students is evident through her teaching style and caring attitude. Also, she will never turn a student that has a question away. Teaching at a community college where research is limited and sometimes nonexistent, Mrs. O. managed to set up a 6 week winter research program in O-Chem (on her own time) to teach a select number of dedicated students lab techniques and participate in research where they would normally not have experienced in a community college setting or in the classroom. Because of her hard work, dedication and love for O-Chem, she instills the same attitude and love for O-Chem in her students who are forever grateful for that vaulable gift. Mrs. Oganesyan should win because she changes the lives of so many students who have the honor of entering her classroom and shapes each and every student not only to excel in O-Chem but in their entire lives.
