Shannan grew up in an iconic American family in Tulsa , Oklahoma . Her grandfather & his family founded Swanson Frozen Foods which literally changed the face of American at-home dining. The Swanson TV-Dinner became the must-have item of its generation virtually overnight. After college, Shannan followed her dream of pursuing a career fine cuisine, attending the legendary Le Cordon Bleu in Paris , from which she graduated with high honors. She moved to Los Angeles to work under Wolfgang Puck and eventually opened her own private catering business. As a chef, Shannan's philosophy is to create delicious and harmonious flavors without contrived ingredients.

When Shannan & Liane Weintraub first became friends, they were bonded by a love of food, fashion and fun. After years of friendship, the two partnered to form Tasty Brand Inc., today one of the country’s fastest-growing organic snack food brands. With a focus on creating better nutritional options for kids (ages 2-102!), Tasty Brand today offers a hugely popular line of organic fruit snacks, as well as a line of organic cereal bars made with both fruits and vegetables baked in. The company will soon launch its newest product line, organic agave-sweetened cookies.

The mission of Tasty Brand is to make a positive impact in the world by offering families options from leading brands which often contain harmful ingredients such as high-fructose corn syrup and artificial colors. All tasty Brand snacks are packaged in portion-controlled servings and wrapped in packages bearing fun, up-beat designs. Shannan and Liane always strive to make the most environmentally and socially responsible choices in sourcing their ingredients and packaging materials, believing that all aspects of their products should be as pure as possible.

Shannan and her husband, Eric have 2 children: Louisa, age 8 and Sonny, age 4.
