"October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and I can't think of better timing for a large donation to Shelter from the Storm. Shelter from the Storm is the sole shelter-based domestic violence organization in my area and serves over 2,000 women and children a year. Government budget cuts and the economy have threatened the services that Shelter from the Storm provides to the small valley I live in. In the past I've been able to donate handmade clothing to help but to be able to donate $5,000 would make a huge difference for this organization and help shorten the waiting list for women and children who fear for their safety.
