Bethany Rubin Henderson
Bethany is the founder of City Hall Fellows, the first and only non-partisan national service corps for city governments. Its mission is to help cities run more effectively and cheaply by using young, local talent in city leadership positions. Bethany's inspiration for the company came from her own work as a fresh college grad, when she contributed to a team that helped New York City transition into the Internet era. When she experienced firsthand the impact young people can have in their city governments, Bethany knew she had to help more kids get into politics.
"In this economic climate, fundraising is really tough for any nonprofit — let alone a relatively new one. $5,000 is a good chunk of City Hall Fellows' budget. Not having to raise that money dollar by dollar frees me up to focus on more important things, like empowering more young people to change their hometowns and raising my own little girls." — Bethany Rubin Henderson
